Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GPA requirement?

You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in all post-secondary coursework.

Do I have to have a master’s degree to join this program?

Yes, you must have a master’s degree. We ask that you have a degree in a health-related field to qualify for this program.

What degree should I have to be eligible for this program?

A degree in clinical healthcare is required for this program. There must be a clinical degree at some point in your education.

Do you accept international students?

We are not accepting international students at this time. 

Do I need to come to campus for this program?

No, this program is 100% online. We have healthcare professionals from all over the United States enrolled in this program.

When do I need to be online (in class)?

This program was designed for working professionals, so you can complete the weekly assignments when it is convenient for you. If you prefer to connect with your classmates and faculty, optional live lectures are available.

How many hours will I need to work on assignments?

Most students spend about 9 hours on their weekly tasks.

What is an academic degree?

An academic or research degree emphasizes strong skills that advance the student's respective field of study. We value the practical skills students will gain by completing a doctoral project suitable for publication.

Is the program accredited?

Yes! The DMSC and DHSC degrees are accredited as academic degrees by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

What support is available for doctoral projects?

All students in the program are closely mentored by faculty to ensure the feasibility and execution of their projects and publications. Faculty are very committed to student success.
