Session 1

Golf Swing Analysis and Course Management

Improve your game over the summer

This is a program to help golfers that have played on high school golf teams develop their golf skills (full swing, pitching, chipping, bunkers and putting), course strategy, mental training and strength training. Students attending golf camp need to have golf clubs and should have minimal golf experience.

Curriculum

Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun safe environment. Coaches will lead the campers through a series of games, drills and exercises that introduce facets of the game (putting, chipping, full swing, course management). The camp environment is designed to allow participants to meet other young golfers and foster enthusiasm and passion for the game.

We will be analyzing golf swings using golf swing analysis technology, Trackman (technical golf data) as well as putting analysis. We will discuss golf course strategy as well as mental and physical training.

Planned Topics

The golf camp will focus on teaching skills of golf on a course setting. Campers will learn short game skills at our short game facility at the Reserve at Spanos Park. These skills will include bunker shots, chipping from fairway and rough, and pitching. Campers will also spend time on the range learning new skills and performance strategies.

The other activities that will take place include disc golf, footgolf and swimming. Most days campers will play on the course and the final few days of the camp will include a camp tournament.
