This certificate program is focused on creating the next generation of business leaders in health care. Building on the legacy of successful alumni leadership, in both private and corporate businesses in and around the health care environment, this program is designed to help students develop business skills with real-world application. Through focused study and guided mentorship students hone their business acumen and develop marketable skills. Students practice utilizing leadership and management skills essential to overseeing a successful health care enterprise.

The program will be tailored to individual students based on their goals and chosen career path within health care. To earn the certificate, students complete a minimum of 18 units from a selection of courses.
Admission into either of the following:
- Students enrolled in professional Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at University of the Pacific.
- The Pre-Pharmacy Advantage program at University of the Pacific that have full intent to complete the PharmD.
Students must complete a minimum of 18 units.
6 credits from Pharmacy related curriculum could come from the following courses:
- PHAR 757 Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Elective I (6 units) or PHAR 758 Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Elective II (6 units)
- PRAC 136 Entrepreneurial Pharmacy Practice (2 units)
- PRAC 140 Healthcare Finance: Pharmacy Applications (2 units)
- PRAC 142 Intro to the Medicare Benefit & Medication Therapy Management (2 units)
12 credits from Business related curriculum could come from any of the following courses:
- BUSI 031 Principles of Financial Accounting (4 units)
- BUSI 105 Financial Management (4 units)
- BUSI 107 Marketing Management (4 units)
- BUSI 109 Management and Organizational Behavior (4 units)
- BUSI 134 Conflict Management (4 units)
- BUSI 148 Promotions Management (4 units)
Students of good academic standing, meeting admission standards for the pharmacy program, should contact the program director to express interest. Students who have completed equivalent business courses at other institutions may be able to apply those units toward fulfilling program requirements.
