Dugoni graduate honored for community work in Natomas
Dr. Moid Kahn (’14 Biological Science, ’17 DDE) received an honor from a Sacramento City councilmember for his dedication to the community of Natomas.
Councilmember Angelique Ashby in mid-June named Kahn the “Natomas Hero of the Week.”
In a nomination letter, office manager Jules Koch wrote: “I have seen him treat hundreds of patients, even when personal protection equipment is at a minimum and he is risking his own health. He refuses to turn down any patient who needs help. Many times he would see patients alone without any assistant or front office staff in order to protect his team.”
Kahn, whose practice is Lush Dental Studio in Natomas, donated more than 15 boxes of masks and gloves to University of California, Davis, and to a dialysis center.
“I've been super impressed with how he's dealt with the craziness of the past few months,” Koch’s nomination letter added. “He doesn't like accolades or showing off, so I wanted to nominate him so he gets credit for what he's doing."
“You make us proud,” Ashby said.
“Thank you Councilmember Ashby. It is an honor and a privilege to serve my Natomas community,” Kahn wrote on Facebook. “In these trying times, we are all being called on to step up and support our communities in whatever way we can. I am proud of what we do at the office and we are committed to support Natomas families in every way that we can.”
