President Callahan's message about Pacific to vaccinate kids ages 5 and up at November clinics
Dear Pacificans,
This week, the FDA authorized the use of a lower dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5–11. This is wonderful news that will help us in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus and its devastating impact across our nation.
Pacific will offer the vaccine at clinics Nov. 13, 14 and 15 on our Stockton Campus. Under the leadership of Dr. Veronica Bandy, students from the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and the School of Health Sciences Physician Assistant program will administer the vaccine to children ages 5–11. Additionally, the vaccine clinic is offering booster doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to all in the educational community. Finally, flu shots are also available.
Pacific students, faculty and staff should use California’s My Turn website (use ZIP code 95211) to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination appointments for their children or themselves. The website allows you to make individual or group/family appointments (for up to five people at a time). For flu vaccinations, use the links below.
Clinics are scheduled for:
- Saturday, Nov. 13: 9 a.m.–1 p.m. in Parking lot 9 (behind the pharmacy school on Brookside Road). Sign up for flu vaccination appointment. | Sign up to volunteer.
- Sunday, Nov. 14: 9 a.m. –5 p.m. in Parking lot 9 (behind the pharmacy school on Brookside Road). Sign up for flu vaccination appointment. | Sign up to volunteer.
- Monday, Nov. 15: noon–4 p.m. in Grace Covell Ballroom. Sign up for flu vaccination appointment. | Sign up to volunteer.
As we approach the fall and winter, I strongly encourage vaccinations against COVID-19 and the flu for you and your family members to ensure the health of our university and surrounding communities.
Stay well and be safe.
Christopher Callahan
