Add to Calendar 2024-10-22 17:30:00 2024-10-22 19:30:00 California Initiative Forum 2024 The California Initiative Forum will be presented on October 22, 5:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall on the McGeorge Campus. The October 22 presentation will also be livestreamed. The Forum will feature objective and neutral analyses of all 10 Statewide Ballot Propositions that voters will be asked to consider on the November 5, 2024 General Election Ballots. Students in Professor Mary-Beth Moylan’s California Initiative Seminar have analyzed the propositions and will provide both written and oral reports to the community in these two public forums. Students have also studied several ballot propositions that qualified for the November election but were removed as a result of a judicial order or legislative compromise. Those reports will also be included in the presentations. An educated electorate is critical to a functioning democracy. In California, where we have the power of direct democracy enshrined in our State Constitution, the need for voters to understand the issues is even stronger. The California Initiative Forum presents an opportunity for all California Voters to educate themselves about the changes that are proposed through the initiative process and any unintended consequences that might flow from a yes or no vote on the propositions.  3200 5th Ave, Sacramento, CA 95817, USA McGeorge School of Law McGeorge School of Law America/Los_Angeles public
