Jiancheng Liu
Dr. Jiancheng Liu, specializes in machine design and manufacturing engineering. His expertise spans mechanical design and analysis, manufacturing processes and micro machining, additive manufacturing system design or 3D printing system, flexible manufacturing system automation, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) technology, along with metrology for production quality inspection.
With a background in academia and industry, Dr. Liu has made noteworthy contributions to his field. He has a substantial publication record, comprising 100 refereed technical journals and conference papers, and holds many patents for his innovative work. He has successfully overseen many research and development projects, managing budgets of 20 million dollars or more, and has played a role in the development of various commercial products and technologies during his industry tenure.
Dr. Liu has shared his insights by delivering speeches and keynote addresses at professional conferences. His accomplishments in integrated manufacturing were recognized with the LEAD Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineering. His dedication to both research and education highlights his broad impact in the field of engineering and computer science.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory (CIMS Laboratory) The laboratory is currently equipped with a HAAS CNC vertical machining center, a Z-Corp rapid prototyping machine, a Mitutoyo CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine, a 6 axis industrial robot and a SACRA robot, a Keyence 3D digital microscope and an optical microscope, a Kistler Cutting force measurement system, a surface roughness measurement system, a touch probe reverse engineering system, and various measurement tools and devices. The engineering software packages installed in the CIMS lab include Solidworks CAD, Esprit CAM, AdvantEdge Thirdwave Cutting Simulation, Matlab and other engineering computation tools. This laboratory is an interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art lab environment, which aims at providing students with advanced technologies and methodologies; an integrated view of engineering to execute engineering tasks; and faculty members with an updated research facility to conduct teaching and research activities.
