Birding at O'Connor Woods

An enjoyable time with David Yee. He will go over birds in a classroom setting then take people out for a short bird outing on the beautiful O’Connor Woods campus.

Stonum Vineyards Tasting

Enjoy a wine flight of “handcrafted, artisan, estate and single vineyard wines that faithfully represent the terroir of origin” with winemaker and owner Kathy Stonum. Take a peek at the Estate
Zinfandel Vineyards while enjoying the fruits of their labor.

Edible Schoolyard Project Tour

Come spend a morning exploring Stockton’s Edible Schoolyard Project community farm. Wonder the orchard, take part in a lesson, visit the beehives, greenhouse & our flock of chickens. We look

Port of Stockton Tour

The Port of Stockton is one of the busiest ports in California and a tour offers a glimpse into the industrial activity, historical insight, and natural beauty of the Port. Visitors will gain a deeper
appreciation for the vital role that the Port of Stockton plays in global trade and commerce. The physical bus tour will start with an overview of the Port’s history, economic and environmental impact, operational details, and development opportunities. LIMIT 8 TOTAL PARICIPANTS.

Calivines Winery & Olive Mill Food & Wine Pairing

Bird Safari I - Lodi Lake

There might not be a better spot in San Joaquin County to observe fall migrants than Lodi Lake. This riparian gem along the Mokelumne River and the lake itself attracts many wonderful
water bird species.

First Unitarian Universalist Church Tour

Emerging in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the Unitarian and Universalist traditions in the United States represent a significant part of early American culture, an important part of the history of Stockton. The first Unitarian Society of Stockton was organized in the 1890’s, and their current building was constructed in the early 1930’s—making it one of the oldest religious buildings in continuous use in Stockton

Bird Safari II - Cosumnes River Preserve

St. Amant Winery is a family owned winery located in Lodi, that prides itself in producing handcrafted wines of superb quality. Founded in 1979 by Tim and Barbara Spencer, St. Amant crafts distinctive wines from Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian varietals in addition to California’s own Zinfandel. They make all their wines on site, from crushing to bottling. Come enjoy the difference.

San Joaquin County History - A View from the Museum

On this educational field trip, Executive Director Phillip Merlo will introduce OLLI students to the history of San Joaquin County, through the lens of historic artifacts and archival records in the collections of the San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum.

The Hidden Tea Room - Tea Service

Date: DEC. 6

Time: 11.am - 12:30pm

Location: 301 N. CALIFORNIA ST., LODI

Join us in the late morning for a proper tea service. The British refer to this as the “elevenses.” You will receive two scones with accoutrements, an assortment of four tea sandwiches and loose leaf tea.

Bird Safari III - Mokelumne River Fish Hatchery

Date: DEC. 13

Time: 10am-NOON.

Location: 25800 N. MC INTIRE RD., CLEMENTS

Instructor: DAVID YEE, AVIAN EXPERT AND AUTHOR

This gem of a park at the base of Camanche Reservoir holds some of the best riparian habitat on the Mokelumne River. Wintering sparrows and woodpeckers are common here, and we can expect the rarity here such as phainopepla, Lewis’s woodpecker and varied thrush. But the highlight will be all of the spawning salmon at the fish hatchery, which usually attracts bald eagles.
