Nancy Hamler
Nancy Hamler, DMSc, RDN, PA-C, completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Samuel Merritt’s PA program in 2016. She earned a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree specializing in Emergency Medicine in 2018. Dr. Hamler returned to Lynchburg in 2020 to complete a post-doctoral certification in PA Education and graduated from the SDPA’s Dermatology Diplomate Fellowship in 2023. Dr. Hamler began her healthcare career as a Registered Dietitian. She started her PA career in family medicine and most of her career in the emergency department; she currently provides in-home care for complex internal medicine patients. Dr. Hamler has long had a passion for teaching. She has taught undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate Nutrition -Dietetics and PA students. She joined Pacific in 2020.
Dr. Hamler has received several awards and recognitions throughout the years. She was inducted into the Pi Alpha Physician Assistant Honor Society and named Pacific’s PA educator of the year in 2022. Dr. Hamler has served as a board member for local and state organizations and currently represents California PAs in the AAPA House of Delegates. Dr. Hamler’s scholarly interest revolves around nutrition and lifestyle in medicine. With the motto “Everybody Eats,” it is her mission to prepare nutrition-knowledgeable clinicians who embrace the importance of lifestyle interventions.
As a food enthusiast, she loves to travel in her spare time to explore different cultures and indulge in their cuisines. She fosters special needs dogs while they search for their forever home.
