Teaching Interests

My name is Fernanda Oda (she/her), and I am a behavioral scientist dedicated to teaching and mentoring. My students often describe me as passionate, caring, creative, and committed to their success. I value the opportunity to learn from and support students throughout their academic journeys.

My teaching philosophy centers on ensuring that education is safe, accessible, effective, and enjoyable. By fostering safety and upholding policies that safeguard dignity and respect, I strive to make every student feel they belong. I prioritize creating an inclusive environment where all students feel comfortable, respected, and valued. I am committed to accessibility and equity, designing courses that accommodate the needs of diverse learners and removing barriers to success. As a behavioral scientist, I approach teaching as a dynamic process, continuously refining my syllabi based on data, student feedback, and best practices in inclusive education. My goal is to help students develop meaningful skills and repertoires, ensuring the learning process is both impactful and engaging. I am devoted to cultivating an academic environment that is both effective and enjoyable. By integrating evidence-based practices with creativity and care, I aim to inspire students and foster their growth as learners and future professionals.
