The Cube space

The Cube offers a wide variety of services related to 3D printing, 3D scanning, and 3D Modeling/Computer Aided Design (CAD).  Bring in a 3D models ready to print, an item you would like to have a digital copy of, or an idea for something you would like to make.  The Cube's staff are knowledgeable on all aspects of digital design and can help with with any step of the process.
 

Current equipment we have:

  • Sovol SV03, Lulzbot TAZ6 and Creality Ender 3 FDM 3D printers with a variety of filament material types and colors.
  • 3D Scanning using LiDAR and close range depth sensing
  • 3D object recreation using photogrammetry

Current 3D design software we have:

  • AutoCAD
  • Blender
  • Fusion360
  • ZBrush
  • Meshmixer
  • OpenSCAD
     

Please note there is a material fee when 3D printing:
For FDM prints: $0.05/gram of material and $0.20/hour of print time

Please submit all 3D printing requests at least 1 week before the desired pickup date to allow for production time.

The Cube reserves the right to refuse printing requests at our discretion.

The Cube offers professional recording equipment and spaces that can be utilized to create high-quality digital media content. Students, staff, and faculty can utilize the equipment and services available to create high-quality content.  Cube Staff are also available to assist with all steps in the media production process.

Equipment and software we have include:
High-quality 4k Cameras, Specialty 360 Cameras, Drones, Microphones, Studio Lights, Green Screens, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and more.

The Cube offers drone services to groups or individuals for academic projects.  Drones can add a unique perspective to your projects with their high-resoultion cameras and additional sensors.  Our drones have been used to support projects involving cinematography, photography, measurement of landscape, architectural recreation using photogrammetry, and topological reconstruction from surface photography.  If you would like help with your project using our drone services, please schedule a consultation time or email cube@pacific.edu.

We currently have the following drones:

  • DJI Phantom 4 Pro+
  • DJI Mavic Air 2
  • DJI Spark

Please note: A FAA licensed member of the Cube's staff must be present as drone pilot for all drone projects.

On the south wall of the Innovation Commons is a high-resolution, digital display system featuring a 100-inch interactive touchscreen monitor. The system includes a podium with audiovisual connections, acoustically treated ceiling and overhead speakers.  Classes and campus groups can reserve the wall for lectures, presentations, and events. The Digital Wall will also be used to showcase interactive projects including 360-degree videos and virtual reality experiences.

Please email cube@pacific.edu to reserve the Digital Wall for classroom use.

The Cube has a 44-inch Canon imagePROGRAF professional printer that can print high quality photos or posters for both personal and project related use.  We can support prints up to 44 inches wide with a variety of paper formats.

Please note there is a material fee for the poster printer:

  • Black and White prints: $1.00/sqft on standard paper, $2.00/sqft on glossy paper
  • Color prints: $2.00/sqft on standard paper, $3.00/sqft on glossy paper

Please submit all poster printing requests at least 48 hours before the desired pickup date to allow for production time.

The Cube provides Power BI Services to support data visualization and business intelligence needs. Our team of Power BI enthusiasts specializes in delivering customized, interactive dashboards and reports that help teams make informed decisions based on real-time data insights.

The Cube offers access to sewing machines and supplies to patch up existing items, or make something new!

The Cube has equipment for both virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences and projects. Students, staff, and faculty can come in and try out one of the many VR applications we have available.  The Cube is also equipped with software and tools to assist you with developing your own AR or VR applications.

We currently have 4 VR stations available for use:

  • 3 Oculus Rift Wired VR headsets
  • 1 HTC Vive Pro Wireless VR headset with finger-tracking controllers and optional full body tracking.
     

We add titles and experiences to our library frequently, so schedule a time or stop by and see what we can offer.

The Cube has a 20-inch Roland BN20a vinyl printer and cutter that can print custom stickers, vinyl decals, and custom designs for clothes.  We can support prints up to 20 wide with a variety of material choose from.

Please note there is a material fee for the vinyl printer:

  • $0.05/sqin for adhesive style materials (stickers, vinyl, etc..)
  • $0.10/sqin for heat transfer materials

Please submit all sticker printing requests at least 1 week before the desired pickup date to allow for production time.
