Affirmation of our values

Mary Lomax-Ghirarduzzi

Dear Pacificans,

The principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and excellence have always been core values of Pacific. We are one of the most diverse universities in the nation, mirroring our communities of Stockton, Sacramento and San Francisco which have all been ranked among the most ethnically diverse cities in the country.

At Pacific, our diverse community is our strength, and we remain committed to our mission and values.

This month, Pacific celebrates Black History Month with an array of exciting events. Black/African Americans have been at the forefront on issues of justice, diversity, equity and inclusion for centuries. I encourage you to make every effort to attend one or more of these events to gain a crucial understanding of the unique contributions, history and achievements of Black/African Americans in shaping the United States.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Black History Month Kickoff Celebrationthis Friday, February 7 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the DeRosa University Center Ballroom, and I encourage you to attend programs hosted by departments, schools and student groups throughout the month of celebration.

Sincerely,

Mary J. Lomax-Ghirarduzzi
