APID Anime Movie Night: "Trese" Marathon
APID Anime Movie Night: "Trese" Marathon
05:30 p.m. - 07:30 p.m.
Join APID Student Services for our monthly Anime Movie Night at the Center for Identity & Inclusion! Each month, we will showcase a new animated film or TV show and discuss the impacts of these media on APID art, culture, and lived experiences.
For October, we will be watching a marathon of "Trese" (2021) which is Netflix’s first Filipino comic-book fantasy adaptation series. The show features main character Alexandra Trese – who works in the criminal and magical underworld of Manila. This show highlights different stories from Filipino folklore and invites viewers to celebrate Philippine culture and traditions. Join us as we come together to celebrate Filipino American History Month and discuss the show’s impacts on APID representation.
